5. Dell XPS 12 (2013)
Next on our list of the top ten ultrabooks is another instalment by Dell. This version of the ultrabook. The machine has a fourth generation core processor and the battery performance is at par. This ultrabook can also be used as a tablet but it becomes far too bulky when used as one. Priced at a whopping $1239, we would say it is a pretty safe bet if you are willing to carry a heavy tablet and compromise a little on the speaker quality.
4. Lenovo IdeaPad U430 Touch
Next up is another one from Lenovo. The most amazing thing is that although Lenovo keeps releasing these ultrabooks, we have yet to see something really classy. Till now, the only people who are buying Lenovo’s ultrabooks are those who cannot afford to go higher. The U430 Touch is slim and powerful although the touch pad feels very so-so and the display is relatively dim, the quality build and an amazing keyboard, more than makes up for it.
3. Lenovo ThinkPad Helix
We next have another one from Lenovo which is relatively more expensive than the rest of the ultrabooks that they have launched. The ThinkPad Helix will cost your around $1250 and with that the ultrabook offers an impressive design, a very workable keyboard and a good battery life. The only downside is perhaps the fact that the tablet itself runs out of battery very soon when used individually and the ultrabook could have used Haswell. Other than that, we think it is a good bet.
2. Acer Aspire S7-392
The next on our list of the top ten, as we reach the very end of our analysis, is the Acer Aspire S7-392, an ultrabook that is giving MacBook Air a run for its money. Apart from the fact that it gets a little warm when loaded and small aesthetic issues, the ultrabook is unbelievably amazing. The processors are state of the art, the battery lasts an amazing 9 hours and the keyboard is an improved version of its predecessor. In short, for $1399, it is an ultrabook that is really worth considering.
1. MacBook Air 2013
Lastly, we come to the famous MacBook Air. As far as this ultrabook is concerned, it has spent so much time in the market that people are more than a little aware of the million good qualities that it has. Starting for $999, this is one of the best ultrabooks out there although the design has now been seen so much that it is starting to lose its charm. With an excellent build, a long battery life of almost 12 hours and excellent hardware under the hood, it is safe to say that you cannot possibly go wrong with a Mac but once you go to Mac you don’t go back.
