We have been going on and on about vacations and summer and summer vacations and what not. What we did not go on and on about are some of the hazards that are automatically associated with vacations of all sorts. You guys must be wondering what those hazards are right? Well since we have been doing our duty telling you about the best possible vacation spots from all around the world, we considered that it our moral obligation to give you a heads up regarding various issues that can crop up while you are in the process of enjoying your rest and recreation time. Given below are ten vacation disasters that you really must avoid.
10. Mistaken Identities
The first and one of the most crucial vacation disasters that we will be listing here is that of mistaken identities. Now while you may think that this sort of thing always happens in the movies and a shinning example would be that of the movie “We are the Millers” but we have researched and discovered that this accident happens in real life too. There were once a few people who were actually killed in Mexico during a vacation because they were mistaken to be members of a certain cartel. The wise thing would be to carry your identification documents with you at all times and try not to enter “cartel specific” areas if you know what we mean.
9. Bug Repellant Drinks
When we are vacationing, don’t we all love our drinks and don’t we all love the late night parties? These parties and drinks are further spiked up if the environment demands so especially the summer parties on beaches that carry on late into the night. There is a reported incident that two Canadian sisters drank to their death because the drinks that they had contain such strong substances that are normally found in bug repellants. It is unbelievable but true so try your level best to avoid risky drinks with unknown ingredients in an unhealthy mixture.
8. For the Love of Photography
The next vacation disaster to avoid while on a vacation would be to avoid plummeting to your death just to fulfill your love for photography. Now this is another one that might come as a shock to your but trust us, all these slick phones with super awesome camera’s out there would certainly provoke you to take mind blowing pictures. Just make sure that while you hover around the edge of a cliff in an attempt to capture the perfect view of the valley below, you don’t accidentally step over it because if you realize and think thoroughly, you are merely looking through the camera lens. It does not provide you a very accurate few.
7. Sandstorms and Fog
The next disaster that can occur while you are happily vacationing is that of kidnapping or worse during sandstorms and heavy fog. All of you must have noticed that while we are on vacations we tend to let go of our alert sense and we tend to loosen up. There have been many reported cases that places where there are frequent sandstorms (the sort that make you go blind) and areas with heavy fog (again we are talking about the sort of fog that makes you temporarily blind) have been prone to astonishing incidents like people going on a Purge (refer to the movie Purge), kidnapping, robberies and even harassment. The wise thing to do if confronted with such a case will be to take cover immediately and not consider a howling sandstorm as your vacation adventure.
6. Harmless Creatures
Next up on our list of vacation disasters to avoid we have a casual warning and sort of like an awareness campaign. This again related to us letting our guards down while we are out and about enjoying ourselves. Remember, if you see and animal that is big enough to sit on you or looks strong enough to tear you apart from limb to limb, do not pay any attention to it and just put some distance between yourself and the animal. Remembers, judge the animal by its cover because most of these look like life size pups but are actually smaller versions of Godzilla’s and that too the sort that isn’t here to save humans.
5. You should be aware of falling boulders – or Rocks
Word to the wise and the un-wise here, if there is a sign board telling you to be careful of falling rocks, we would suggest you wisen up and do be careful of falling rocks. There have been several cases where not ickle boulders but large rocks have taken out entire train engines and bogies. This vacation disaster is so easy to avoid if you aren’t all willing to play hide and seek with death while you vacation.
4. Getting Robbed
The next advice on our list of vacation disasters to avoid is fairly simple and really just needs some application of common sense. Remember how we are careful never to leave our house and belongings unattended? Well same goes for vacations, take care of your belongings and make use of lock and key to avoid robbery and theft.
3. Another Form of Robbery
With the previous advice laid out so beautifully already we thought we might as well put this one out there too. Being way to excited about the vacation makes us want to tell everyone that we are going on one. So much so that as you are leaving for a vacation nothing short of a whole city of people knows that you won’t be at home for quite a while. Resultantly, some people might think it would be exiting to rob your house or break and enter. Make sure, before you leave for a vacation, that you have proper arrangements for security while you are away and that someone trustworthy is always coming by just to make sure things are ok.
2. Avoid Flooding
As we near the end of our list we would like to point out some of the most basic vacation disasters and how to avoid them. As you make your way out the door headed for a more than awesome vacation, make sure that all the taps of every sort are turned of tightly otherwise you will come back a flooded house and no one likes that do they?
1. Avoid Burning Down the Whole House
Last but not the least on our list of vacation disasters to avoid we have a request that you avoid burning down the whole house. All you need to do is make sure there is no gas leakage, no pipe is prone to leakage (you should ensure that in general too though) and no burner has been left on. This way you won’t have to worry about the whole house burning down and secondly, do not at any cost leave your hair straighteners or hair curlers on because that too can lead to fire!
