Veronica Roth, an American Novelist and short story writer, came up with the Divergent Trilogy. It was a series of bestselling novels titled Divergent, Insurgent and Allegiant as the final installment in the three book series. The last book was released in October, 2013. The novels were hugely successful which are why they were bestsellers but the fans were elated when the movie adaption of Divergent was announced. This year saw the release of the movie to massive crowds but before you head on out to catch a show yourself, here are a few things that you will want to remember. We are sure that you guys, like all the rest, have read various blogs and what not regarding the books and the now released movie, but this article aims to compile it all up and provides you with needed information that will not contain spoilers and will not dampen the spirits.
10. The Movie And The Book Go Hand In Hand
Unlike so many other movie adaptations that have been released in the recent years, this movie is as sincere to the book as possible. At no point does the movie deviate from the original storyline of the book. Therefore, thankfully enough, you will see no meaningless meanderings here and there like we saw in the latest installment of The Hobbit. The readers will be delighted.
9. No This isn’t Twilight
This movie is not Twilight, nor is it an inspiration from Twilight. In reality, these two movies are poles apart but recently, whenever a movie is centered around a strong movie character, critics and stupids seem to think that it is somehow an afterthought of Twilight. We do admit that every movie needs a bit of romance but the sort of romance in Divergent will not increase your blood sugar. It is actually quite realistic and provides the viewers with the needful dose in the right amount.
8. No It Isn’t Another Chapter of The Hunger Games
A lot of people have also speculated that his movie is adapted from the screenplay of the famous movie and books series titled “The Hunger Games”. If you have read the books you will also realize why the same is being said but once you go through with the whole series and watch the movie, your suspicions will be put to rest.
7. Yes It Is Slightly Dystopian
For all those who aren’t really familiar with the term, the word Dystopian is actually a film genre. It represents all those films which are shown as happening in the future. But if we are totally honest, we will not limit the films’ genre to only dystopian. The most interesting thing that will help you reach the same conclusion is the fact that while the film setting is initially quite normal and standardized, the government is as power hungry as ever.
6. Yes It Has Bad Ass Characters
This is not a spoiler people so you can go ahead and read it without any fear. The thing that we are trying to highlight is that just because we said that this movie will be no Twilight or Hunger Games does not mean that it will not have the right amount of violence and characters that are literally bad to the bone. As you are all aware (this much is also said on IMDB) that the movie is based on a city that is divided into four categories of people. Now there is one category that is known for its adrenaline pumping bravery and ruthlessness. None of the people in that faction will be non-bad if you know what we mean so you can keep your fingers crossed for some real action.
