We have been listening to the debate about which phone is better when it comes to the top class Android Galaxy S4 by Samsung and iPhone 5 by Apple. Both the companies have sold tens of millions of handsets and they are in huge demand even now. The reason is that both the phones, although operating on a completely different base system, provide you with high end technological support when it comes to telecommunication. Both the phones have competitive apps and functionality. So when it comes down to buying, which phone would you rather prefer and why? In this article lies the answer to this very tough but important question. This article will overview ten critical features and will then conclude how Samsung Galaxy S4 should be the obvious choice. Read on to find out ten reasons why Samsung Galaxy S4 beats Iphone 5.
10. Price and Deals
Now while the market is practically overflowing with great deals and contracts for both the phones, there are still strong chances that you will get Galaxy S4 for a cheaper price. If you really put your mind to it, the S4 can be purchases at a price that is a hundred pounds cheaper than the Iphone which quite a lot if you really consider it. So here we have the first point for Samsung Galaxy S4, a 16GB phone that you can get for just 400 pounds.
Moving on in our list of the ten reasons why Samsung Galaxy S4 beats iPhone 5 is the design. Now at this point we can hear or actually sense a lot of you shouting at the top of their lungs to tell us that iPhone is a better option is design is the keyword. We do agree that iPhone has more snug fit into the palm of your hand and the huge S4 might just slip out. Moreover, the design aesthetics on the iPhone are just a lot better and luxurious looking so this one is a win for Apple.
At this point, the faceoff between the two phones is at a draw. The next critical point that we will be examining is the durability. Android Authority, an authority online that you can Google, conducted a few drop tests to see which phone was sturdier. Surprise-surprise, it was Samsung Galaxy S4 whose screen cracked first although the exterior of the iPhone (owing to the fact that it is metal) did get dingy. The obvious winner for this point again is the iPhone 5.
7. Internal Speakers
You might thing that this article is going to be totally contradictory to the title due to the previous two point being scored by Apple but hold your horses as we test the internal speakers next. At higher volumes, the S4 tends to hold a lot better than the iPhone which sounds like a woman screeching at the top of her lungs while simultaneously being out of breath. This means SCORE for Samsung which brings us to another draw.
The S4 is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0, 4G, NFC, MHL, GPS where as iPhone 5 is equipped with only 4.0, 4G, GPS. We are sure that you are not aware of all of the short term we have used in the previous sentence but that is ok. All you need to know is the fact that the iPhone does not have MHL which would have allowed for it to connect via an HDMI to your TV and neither does it have NFC which is Near Field Communication. Being short of both we are sad to declare that the Iphone loses another point.
The evaluation of this next critical feature in our face-off would have ended in another draw had we only considered the technology and pixel size, the sharpness and the clarity of the image and performance in low light conditions- but we are taking into consideration the screen size too. Angry little android devils aren’t we? Well it turns out (obviously) that the S$ has a bigger screen and it doesn’t take a genius to understand that a bigger screen is an added benefit especially while viewing videos and what not. Can you guess who gets this point then?
The next important feature on our list of the top ten reasons why Samsung Galaxy S4 beats iPhone 5 is storage. Let us put it mildly and simply for you guys before we head on to declare how S4 wins the point for this feature too. Both the phones are available in standard 16GB storage. However, the microSD slot in the S4 allows for an additional memory for 20 pounds where as the same thing for Apple will cost you nothing less than 170 pounds. Enough said, now you be the judge!
3. CPU and GPU
We next come to a more technical feature, the CPU and GPU. An online face-off was gone by Geekbench which showed that while iPhone 5 gave a very strong competition to Galaxy S3, it was no match for S4. The point to be noted here is the S4 uses Quad Core with a Snapdragon 600 1.9GHz processor. Just because the iPhone lost this round too does not in any way imply that the phone does not have a good enough processor. Apple manufacturers have put in an advanced Cortex A-15 architecture which is unrivaled and solid. We just expect that iPhone 5s would give a more viable scare to S4. For now, Apple has to show “sportsphoneship” if you know what we mean.
We would like too, actually we would love to give credit to the iPhone for this next feature on our list i.e. the software. We have to admit that even though Galaxy S4 uses Android Jelly Bean as the operating system and TouchWiz provides the interface to the customers, the new iOS 7 just takes the prize. The looks is a lot more slick, more modern, more crisp, the icons look fresh and the whole feel is revamped. We would also like to especially mention that we are in love with the control center and how we can turn the Wi-Fi on and off with a single upward swipe. The award for this particular point certainly goes to the iPhone.
Last but certainly not the least we come to the camera. We halfheartedly announce that tests conducted on the internet have proven that S4 takes the prize but not by a great margin (thus this halfhearted joy). In the end, however, it was whether or not S4 overpowers iPhone 5 or not and the conclusion is that if you have to choose between the two, go for S4.
