5. Margarine Contains Less Fat Than Butter
While margarine might have less saturated fats than butter does, it is piled up high with hydrogenated fats and you need less of both, hydrogenated and saturated fats, to actually manage to lose weight. So make sure you check the labels to see if hydrogenated oil has been used in margarine. If so, then it really makes no difference whether you purchase that margarine or butter.
4. No-Carb Diet Is The Best
There is also another myth amongst weight watchers that carbohydrates make us fat and that a reduction in the intake of carbohydrates will make us lose weight. This is also not true and therefore the reliance on Atkins is nothing but a myth. Being on Atkins basically means that you are on a diet free from carbohydrates and people actually lose weight while on it. This is only because while on Atkins, one generally eats a lot less and thus it is by no magic of carb-less food.
3. Snacks Free Diet
The next myth that we will be busting is that some people tend to believe that if they stop eating snacks, they will make their way to size zero. Here again, what needs to be acknowledged is that fact that is not so much the snack but what the snack consists off, that does the damage. If you snack on fruit then by all means snack away but if you snack on French fries, that is a whole other story.
2. Lots of Water- Lots of Weight Loss
A lot of people also believe that drinking lots of water will help them in losing weight. The fact is that what water will help you in losing weight if water is all you are taking in. Otherwise, water helps you keep hydrated and release the toxins from your body. Other than that, water can actually make you gain weight through water retention if you are not careful enough.
1. Skipping Meals
Skipping meals is actually the worst thing you can do to lose weight simply because if you skip one of two meals, you will be even more hungry by the time you are about to have your third meal and you will indulge more than necessary. This is why dieticians advice to take six small meals instead of three big ones and give your stomach space to settle. Also, distribution of the right calories and the right portions is also very important. We should remind ourselves that 2000 calories of fat is more damaging then equal proportions of carbohydrates, fats, protein in a 2000 calorie diet.
