There has been so much mention of the word tourism in recent advertisements, all over the social media, in the print media and even when various airlines are trying to sell their travel packages they brand it as tourism. In the true sense of the word, tourism refers to an international or trans-national travel that is done for a short duration of time and for the sole purpose of leisure, recreation, business or a lethal combination of all three. Despite the misuse of the term, tourism still is one the most sought after ways to spend ones money because not only does tourism add to the experience and exposure of a person, it adds to the personality too because a little bit of every place we visit, stays with us. So if your bags are packed and you are ready to go, this article will focus on the year 2014 and all those places that are considered most attractive for tourism this year!
10. Cape Town, South Africa
The first place that will be attracting the maximum number of tourists this years is Cape Town in South Africa. The list is not based on which place will attract the most and which place which attract the least number of tourists. So Cape Town cannot guarantee the maximum number of tourists but will be seeing an increase in tourism. A lot of people associate Table Mountain in Cape Town as a symbol of freedom because when Nelson Mandela was in prison, he told everyone that Table Mountain represents the mainland to which he hopes to return too when he is finally freed!

We all know that few years ago, the city was hit by massive earthquakes but thanks to the unhindered zeal of the residents, the place is springing back to life more rejuvenating than the previous. The healing process will take its time but the tourists have started to pour in. 2014 is looking up to be the most heavily recorded year for tourism.

This next place we have on our list of the top destinations for tourism this year, can boast one the earliest and largest art schools in the world. Addis Ababa is known for its over-ambitious art scene but in a very good sense. Only this year they will be hosting a photography festival as well as a music festival that will primarily be centered on Jazz from around the world. Keeping this in mind, if the year 2014 sees a whole herd of tourists looking for art coming to Ethiopia, no one will be surprised!
