No matter how it occurs, but the truth is that, deaths are always tragic. In this write-up, we have tried to prepare for you a list of ten weirdest deaths ever. We do not, in any way, mean to ridicule these people. Our only purpose would be for all our readers to be careful and take a good care of themselves, since none of these, discussed below, ever thought they could die from gormandizing, or while taking selfies or with a cricket ball.
10. The Fatal Lightning : Weirdest Deaths Ever
The collective death of a soccer team as a result of lightning strike definitely wins a place on our list of weirdest deaths ever. There have been collective deaths in incidents like floods, hurricanes, plane crashes, earthquakes and the like, but this is certainly weird. The death by a bolt of lightning happened in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in October, 1998. It was during a football match, when the light struck the game filed and killed 11 players from the same team. Although, the home team (Bena Tshadi) survived, but the guest team, Basanga, (each one of their players) died on the spot. How weird!!! As if the death chose a team!!!
9. Killed by Sauna
Next on our list of ten weirdest deaths ever, we have a death that occurred due to burns gained in sauna, and that too willingly, as a part of a competition. Russian Vladimir Ladyzhensky, a Russian finalist, lost his life during a competition of World Sauna Championship in Finland. He spent 6 minutes in the sauna under temperature of110°C (230°F) to win the championship. He did this in pursuit to outlast reigning champion Timo Kaukonen. However, both men endured by receiving fatal burns. The latter survived but the former died as soon as he was taken to the hospital.
8. The Lover of Nature
Steve Irwin, known as the Crocodile Hunter, was an Australian naturist, wildlife expert and television presenter. It seemed that Steve had more animal friends than human friends. However, time proved otherwise. The Crocodile Hunter was killed by a giant stingray, which was eight foot wide. It is included in our list of ten weirdest deaths ever because it was weird to see someone like him to be killed by a stingray. He loved animals and devoted his life to animal research, animals’ rights and conservation of various species. He died on spot in September 2006 near Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.
7. A Rare Death on the Cricket Field
The most tragic and the weirdest death during a cricket match happened in November, 2014, when a ball hit the 26 years old Australian cricketer, Phillip Hughes. It resulted in a rare condition of brain damage, which is why it has been included here on our list of ten weirdest deaths ever. Doctors say that there have been only 100 cases of vertebral artery dissection before. Doctors, worldwide, claim that they have never encountered such a condition ever before.
Adolf Fredrick, the Sweden’s King, back in the 18th century, is famous for having eaten himself to death. On 12th Feb 1771, the King consumed so much food that it caused his death. His meal consisted of kippers, caviar, champagne, lobster, sauerkraut. This was topped off with 14 servings of his favorite dessert: semla, which was served in a bowl of hot milk. It was too much for a human stomach to take, so he died. This certainly deserves a spot on our list of ten weirdest deaths ever.
