Dancing being a form of performance arts, is fast become one of the most favored exercising options and rightfully so because dancing really makes you lose weight, albeit you need to do it properly as far as the moves are concerned. Needless to say, a healthy physical activity is always and forever going to be mandatory for a person if they wish to have a retain a balanced and healthy life. We have seen several movies that have been based on one or the other form of dancing and perhaps the two biggest examples we could quote from the recent times would be “The Black Swan” and “The Step Up” series of movies! Where black swan focuses on ballet dancing, Step Up is related to break dancing. 10. Hip hop : Most Popular Dancing Styles
The first dancing style on our list of most popular dancing styles is Hip Hop. We are sure that most of you would be familiar with this dancing style as it is one of the most well known forms of street dancing known to today’s generation. As it can be judged from the name of the dance, it is basically performed (and still is) by crews to famous Hip Hop tunes. The dancing style is most famous in the United States where you can even hire a crew to perform for an event. The dancing itself prominently includes but is not limited to breaking, locking and popping and as the dancing style got famous, it was show cased in movies like Soul Train and Wild Style. This dancing style also inspired Jazz-Funk, which is a jazz dance.
9. Ice Dancing
Next up on our list of most popular dancing styles is Ice Dancing, which most of you would know by the name of Ice Skating or Figure Skating, although the aforementioned do not strictly have to be dances. This is also a form of sport because proper competitions are held to decide which couple is the best. This brings us to another fact, Ice Dancing can be a solo performance but more often than not, its a couple dance.
8. Bollywood Dance
As the name itself indicates, Bollywood dance is specific to the type of dancing we see in Bollywood films. Most of you might be unaware as to what type that is but we can assure you guys this much, that if you are looking an upbeat zumba style dance cum workout, Bollywood dancing is the thing for you! As can be seen in the picture above, the dance is mostly about flashy outfits, quick and mostly difficult moves that involve all the body parts, and a gripping music. You can try it for a tester but this much is guaranteed, you may not under stand the language but you would want to move-your-bootay!
7. Boogie Woogie
Next up on our list of most popular dancing styles we have Boogie Woogie! Before moving on, we would like to offer a little disclaimer as far as the name of the dancing style is concerned. See Boogie Woogie is what these dance moves are called in Europe whereas, in the US, this danced is mostly referred to as East Coast Swing. Coming back to the track, as ridiculous as it sounds, the dance is actually performed to amazing rock and roll music and was a rave back in the 1950s. When in competition, Boogie Woogie dancers cannot choreograph their dances, they have to lead, either one of the couple!
You might think what is up with the flashy image depicting the dance but that is it ladies and gentlemen, B-Boying which is most commonly referred to ask break dancing, is one of the most energetic and amazing dances ever! The biggest and most entertaining examples include but are most certainly not limited to the dances in the Step Up series! Beautifully choreographed, these can simply enchant their way into your heart. But not so fast eh, this type of dancing is really hard to learn unlike most of the other dancing styles.
