We all love watching movies but the thought hardly ever crosses our mind as to what kind of work and effort it takes to make movies that appear to be so realistic and beautiful. In the effort of creating realistic moments that look closer to real life, people have even been injured, and in most severe case lost their lives. 10. Seven – Brad Pitt : Hollywood Stunts Gone Wrong
During the filming of ‘Seven’, released in 1995, Brad Pitt tore open his hand. The wounded hand had then to be added into the movie script to fit it well. In a scene where Pitt is running after a serial killer, played by Kevin Spacey, in the rain. It so happened that he smashed straight through a car’s windscreen. It was a deep wound – so deep that his bones could be seen. So, now you know why we added the story of the wounded hand to our list of ten Hollywood stunts gone wrong.
9. Gladiator – Russel Crowe
It is not surprising to see Russell Crowe in the list of ten Hollywood stunts gone bad, since he performs his own stunts in most of the movies he works in. The Gladiator, released in the year 2000, is to date Crowe’s second biggest hit. While filming the movie, he received multiple injuries. Crowe can be seen having multiple stitches on his face just when the movie starts – this happened as a result of reversing his horse into tree branches. Moreover, he also suffered two arm tendons and fractured his foot and hip bones during a fight scene in the movie. Other than this, he also damaged his shoulders. So, basically, he left nothing uninjured!!!
8. The Call – Halle Berry
Halle berry’s ‘The Call’ was one of the most interesting thrillers of the year 2013. She plays the role of a 911 operator in the flick. However, during the shooting of the movie, she herself needed some emergency assistance. The accident occurred while the character of Berry, Jordan, gets into a fight with a kidnapper/murderer, Michael Foster, played by Michael Eklund. Eklund did not make a very accurate estimate of the distance to the concrete floor and bashed Halle’s head into it; she lost consciousness. The actress was hospitalized, although she was released the next day. This surely deserves a spot on our list of ten Hollywood stunts gone wrong. And let this be known that it was not the first time she got into a mishap during filming of a movie.
7. Hollywood Homicide – Harrison Ford
Let’s see what is next on our list of ten Hollywood stunts gone bad!! During the filming of 2003’s ‘Hollywood Homicide’, an action comedy starring Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett, a car crash injured both. As a result of the car crash, Ford received a muscle pull while Josh suffered whiplash. Both recovered shortly and made fun of each other’s injuries at movie publicity campaigns. By the way, this was not the first time the veteran actor injured himself. Previously, he endured a herniated disc on the sets of ‘Indian Jones’ and a broken ankle during the shooting of ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’.
6. Gothica – Halle Berry
So, what do we have next on our list of ten Hollywood stunts gone wrong? While filming the movie, Gothica, which could not do wonders at the box office, Halle Berry fractured her arm while doing her own fights and stunts. After one of the scenes which required a whole lot of physical challenge for her, she was left arm broken and was rushed to the hospital. Due to her injury, the filming was postponed. It was only half way through at the time the accident took place; however, it was resumed in the end of 2003.
